Google sign-in privacy
Updated 4 October 2026
This notice explains how Smart Data handles Google account information when you choose Continue with Google. Google sign-in is optional; you can use your existing email and password instead.
Information Google provides
Google sends a signed identity token containing your Google account identifier, email address and verification information. The token may also contain your profile name and picture. Smart Data verifies this token on its server and uses the verified identity to find your existing website account.
What the sign-in feature stores
After a successful first sign-in, we store your Google account identifier, the linked Smart Data account ID and the date the link was created. This lets us recognize the same account on later visits. This feature does not save your Google profile name or picture, Google password, or Google access or refresh tokens. It does not create a new website account automatically.
Security and cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and protect sign-in requests. The Google sign-in rate limiter stores a hashed IP address, an attempt count and a time window to reduce abuse. Identity links are retained for future sign-ins; rate-limit records are retained for abuse protection.
Use and sharing
Google account information is used to authenticate you and protect this sign-in feature. It is processed by our website and hosting infrastructure. This integration does not forward your Google identity token or profile information to bundle suppliers or payment providers, and does not use it for advertising. It requests no access to your Gmail messages, contacts, Google Drive files or other Google services.
Your browser communicates directly with Google to authenticate you. Google's handling of that interaction is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices and questions
You can stop using Google sign-in and continue with your website password. You can also manage the Smart Data connection in your Google Account connections. Removing it there does not automatically delete your Smart Data account or our stored account link.
To request removal of your Google sign-in link or related sign-in data, or ask about this notice, contact cliffordohene365@gmail.com. Include your Smart Data account email; never send your password or a Google sign-in token.
